“Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” –Matthew 9:38
At Calvary Chapel Fergus Falls, we believe serving is at the heart of our faith, just as it was for the church in its beginning. They shared everything, met real needs, and stepped up with their unique gifts to build God’s kingdom (Acts 2:44-45, 6:1-6).
Pray to the Lord that He would send more helpers, and pray about helping. Whether you’re new or a longtime member, there’s a place for you to make a difference.

Questions About Serving?
We consider serving the Lord a privilege and would like to make it as smooth as possible for you to serve Him. Here are a few answers to the most frequently asked questions.
- 1. Who can serve, and when can I start serving?
- We want people who are born-again Christians (John 3:3-7,16) called by God to join us in this work. We ask that you attend regularly for 6 months before serving. This policy not only helps you know that this is your church home, but also allows us time to get to know you.
- 2. How often can I serve?
- Serving flows from your relationship with Jesus. Make sure you’re spending time with God each day. Your love for Jesus will overflow into the way you serve. You can’t give what you don’t have, so keep reading/listening to your Bible, praying, and be in church fellowship. We are flexible with your schedule, and suggest a one-year commitment.
- 3. How will I be trained?
- We want you to serve where you will thrive and enjoy the ministry of serving. When you serve the Lord, stay motivated by His love for you. We train by having you observe and then serving with supervision (I do, you watch -> I do, you help -> You do, I help -> You do, I cheer).
- 4. How can I avoid burn-out?
- We want you to look forward to serving. If not, take a week off or two to help avoid burn-out. Family is our first ministry, and the more we have someone who can fill-in for us, be on a rotating schedule, the better we can all remain healthy. This is why we desire to equip teams and do the work of ministry together.
- 5. What happens next?
- After you apply (see Ministry Interest Form to Serve below), your application will be reviewed and processed. You will hear from us regarding details and next steps. Serving on some teams require a background check and additional interview processes.
